This is stunning in its simplicity. Painted like aged metal, people don't have a clue as to what it is. A double border of black leather has tiny brass studs inserted into each hole. That in itself took hours.

I fell in love with this little poem immediately (origin unknown, at least to me), which inspired my current interpretation, which represents the three distinct cultures which make up the Puerto Rican identity. The setting is Old San Juan, with its colorful houses and cobalt-brick roads. However you look at it, it's a celebration of women and what we can accomplish.

Here is a piece which really is appreciated more the longer you look at it. It's our Dolphin Centerpiece, but it's really much more than just a centerpiece...it's a Showpiece. The only other time I've painted a dolphin this size was on Her World, my first place winner at a show years ago (see the Awards page). Crafted from a single, huge higuera, various sea animals decorate the base, which rests on four cowrie seashells (gathered on one of our beach days). Men love this as much as women...I say that because just imagine this in your guy's office or "wreck" room.
